The National Park Service is waiving entrance fees January 20 for Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Considering that 2014 marks the 50th anniversary of King's receiving the Nobel Peace Prize and the passing of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the long holiday weekend would be a good time to visit any of the many parks that honor the civil rights leader and that celebrate African American achievements.
